NAHEP has been formulated by ICAR with the budget of Rs. 883.19 Cr. The project is proposed on cost-sharing basis between the World Bank and the Government of India, implemented at the Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi.
Silent Achievements
- Improved students’ competence has led to enhancement in placement rate (62%) & prospects of admission in higher studies (77%).
- Both national and international internship programmes for the students help boost their confidence and made them ready for real world situations.
- Faculty members exposed to international trainings have been exposed to updates in their respective fields of study. Two of the faculties have also bagged academic related
- DBT, GoI, New Delhi has sanctioned M.Sc. (Agriculture Molecular Biology & Biotechnology) programme for financial support for 10 seats/annum.
- Three publications in Impact factor journals directly as an outcome of the international training programmes.
- One patent by the scientist attending international training programme.
- Multiple project proposals submitted by the benefitted faculty.
- Provision of digital and interactive platforms have led to blended learning ecosystem.
- Paper submission in high quality Peer Reviewed journal enhanced H-index.
- Innovative & entrepreneurial skills helped students to develop different types of hydroponic models
- Improvement in teaching and research infrastructure & revenue of the University
- Forty-one MoU’s have been signed with different Institutes/organizations Nationally & Internationally to foster the culture of innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, training engagement and joint research.
- Twelve - Startup ideas of the students were shortlisted for incubation.
- Five Research papers submitted by UG students after completion of National Internship under NAHEP -IDP, SKUAST -J
- Out of nine filled patents, five patents were granted to the faculty members during the project period.
Outcomes
The implementation of the project resulted in improvement of university NIRF ranking. New projects worth about Rs. 350 crores have been sanctioned to the University Scientists after advent of the IDP project. During this period 6 patents have been granted. An alumni Directory was also prepared. The project published compendiums on different trainings/workshops, compendiums of remedial classes, newsletters.
