The Registrar is the central administrative hub of SKUAST-Jammu, responsible for managing the University’s academic, administrative, and statutory functions. It ensures effective coordination of governance bodies such as the University Council, Board of Management, and Academic Council, facilitating smooth operations across the University.
Mandate
- To serve as the central administrative body of the University, ensuring smooth functioning of all academic, administrative, and statutory activities.
- To constitute the University Council, Board of Management, and Academic Council as per the University Act, Statutes, and Regulations.
- To ensure the career growth of faculty by facilitating professional development opportunities, promotions, and the implementation of faculty welfare schemes in line with University policies.
- To oversee the maintenance and updating of records related to faculty, students, staff, and other University activities.
- To handle the University’s official correspondence, notifications, and documentation.
- To ensure compliance with the University’s rules, policies, and governance framework.
- To assist in the legal, financial, and compliance-related matters of the University.
Activities
- Organizing the University Council meetings to discuss strategic decisions, policies, and overall governance of the University.
- Organizing the Board of Management meetings to review operational, financial, and infrastructural matters, ensuring smooth administration of the University.
- Organizing theAcademic Council meetings to deliberate on academic standards, curriculum, examinations, and educational policies.
- Ensuring the maintenance of official records, including the preparation and dispatch of academic certificates, degrees, and transcripts.
- Managing admissions, academic promotions, and ensuring the process adhere to the University’s guidelines and policies.
- Coordinating with various University departments for smooth execution of academic and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with University statutes and regulations.
- Facilitating external communication, including interactions with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and partners.
