The Estates Division is responsible for managing and maintaining SKUAST-Jammu's physical infrastructure and land assets, ensuring their optimal utilization for academic and research purposes. It also acts as the custodian of state land transferred to the University, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Mandate
- To act as the custodian of the state land transferred to the University.
- To ensure proper utilization and maintenance of the University’s land and property resources.
- To ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legal regulations in relation to the University’s physical assets.
- To provide efficient services for the upkeep of University infrastructure, ensuring a conducive working and learning environment.
Activities
- Construction, management and maintenance of University’s campuses, buildings, roads, and other infrastructure elements.
- Allocation of space and facilities across the University to meet the academic, administrative, and research needs.
- Coordinating and managing the landscaping in the University campus.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, security, and environmental regulations related to the use and maintenance of physical assets.
- Handling land acquisition, lease agreements, and land use planning for future expansion of the University.
- Ensuring the proper upkeep of the University’s utilities, such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, and waste management systems.
