To undertake basic and applied research on crops of the region. To act as repository of temperate plant germplasm. Development /improvement of area specific agro-techniques.

Extension :

Propagation, multiplication and distribution of elite planting materials among the growers.

• Production and multiplication of quality planting material of temperate crops
• To undertake the basic and advanced research of temperate fruit crops
• To provide training for enhancing the skills of farmers besides imparting updated agricultural technologies to departmental functionaries.
