 To impart postgraduate education (Ph.D. and M Sc.) and training for human resource development  Teaching at under graduate level for the courses related to Vegetable Science.  Teaching programme for technocrats from the line department.

Research :

 To conduct applied and strategic research on improvement and production technology of vegetablel crops  To develop and identify stable quality genotypes.  Refinement and development of climate resilent technologies to mitigate the vagaries of climate change.  Refinement in production technology of high value low volume vegetables under open and protected conditions  Efficient land management and water utilization in vegetable crops  Production of quality planting material and vegetable seeds.

Extension :

 Dissemination of production technology of vegetable crops through trainings, on-farm demonstrations, field visits, University village visit programme, electronic and print media.
