Teaching :

Teaching: Teaching different courses of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology to the students of B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc., and Ph.D. degree programmes imparting both the theoretical and practical training.

Research :

To conduct research in the field of veterinary surgery, anaesthesia and radiology as per the needs of the nation in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular.

Extension :

To conduct and participate in trainings to the field veterinarians and transfer of the technology to line departments. Providing expert services and attending awareness- cum- clinical camps organized by various agencies throughout Jammu province. Participate in the village visit programme of the University for educating the farmers about animal management, prevention of diseases, first aid, and Do’s and Don’ts in case of diseases.

• RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF VETERINARY SURGERY, RADIOLOGY AND ANESTHESIOLOGY.
• STANDARDIZATION AND APPLICATION OF NEW SURGICAL TECHNIQUES IN PET, FARM AND WILD ANIMALS.
• APPLICATION OF ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC MODALITIES (VIZ. DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY, B-MODE AND DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY, LAPAROSCOPY ETC.) FOR DIAGNOSIS OF VARIOUS AFFECTIONS IN PET, DOMESTIC AND WILD ANIMALS.
• TO EVOLVE NEW SAFE COMBINATIONS OF ANAESTHETICS FOR USE IN PET, FARM AND LABORATORY ANIMALS.
