Jamunapari





1.   Jamnapari  (or Jamunapari ) The Pride Goat  of India, is large dual purpose  breed commonly found in UP in between Yamuna, Ganga and Chambal river.
2.   This breed of goat originating from Indian subcontinent. Since 1953 they have been exported to Indonesia (popular as Etawa goat , and its mixture with a local goat called "PE", peranakan Etawa or Etawa mix) where they have been a great success. It is bred for both milk and meat. The name is derived from the Yamuna river. 
3.   This breed is one of the ancestors of the American Nubian .
4.   Jamunapari goat is known as best dairy goat breed. These goats gives a lot of milk on daily basis. The milk is delicious and people enjoy the taste of her milk. Female Jamunapari goat gives almost 2 to 3 liters of milk everyday.
5.   The milk contains only 5 percent of fat and it means this is safe to drink for a good health. People can do business with these goats. Because their milk is delicious and the quantity on daily basis is enough to meet needs.

6.   Tail  small sized tail which is slightly curved upward.
7.   EAR-  long and pendulous ear.
8.   The tests are long too.
9.   Average growth was recorded to be 70 -75 g / day. Single birth is very common and twin birth is less observed. Litter size at birth is single 70 % while twins 30 %. They kid twice in a period of 18 months.
