1.       The Black Bengal goat is a breed of goat is small in size but its body structure is tight. Its horns are small and legs are short. It is poor in milk production. It is very popular in Bangladesh because of its low demand for feed and high kid production rate.
2.      The Black Bengal goats gain sexual maturity at earlier age than most other breeds. The female goat becomes pregnant twice a year and gives birth to one to three kids.
3.      This breed can adapt to any environment easily and its disease resistance is very high.
4.      It produces high-quality meat and skin, and is preferred for the skin and high prolificacy rate.
5.      Black Bengal goat has a broad chest, ears are always on top, horn may small or medium. Their body is tight and relatively shorter than other goat breed. The hair of the skin is smooth.
6.      This breed plays a very important role in reducing unemployment and poverty from Bangladesh.
7.      They can eat most vegetables, grasses and leaves, but a high amount of carrots is fatal to them.
8.      Coat colour is predominantly black, brown/grey and white with soft, glossy and short hairs.
9.      Dwarf in body size.
10.      Most prolific among Indian breeds.
11.      Multiple births common, two, 3 or 4 kids born at a time.
12.      Kidding twice a year. Average litter size 2.1.
13.      Average age at first kidding 9-10 months.
14.      Its skin is great demand for high class shoe-making.
