Research for extension of shelf life of fruits, vegetables, cereals for loss reduction through value addition and processing .

Extension :
• Division provide trainings on fruit and vegetable preservation to entrepreneurs, housewives, farmers, NGO, Unemployment youth officers of Department of Horticulture/Agriculture and Social welfare at various locations and gave on spot practical demonstrations regarding value addition of different fruits and vegetables and used to distribute pamphlets containing recipes of different products
• Divisional staff also acts as resource persons in various training programmes organized by university, NGO’s and by Department of Agriculture and Horticulture
• The Divisional staff interacts with the officers of department of Horticulture & Agriculture, NGO’s, Progressive farmers regarding the post Harvest handling and value addition of different Horticultural crops.

- Refinement and adoption of the presently availably post harvest technology for loss prevention and value addition of horticulture produce
Development of low cast processing technologies for enhancing shelf life of perishable fruits and vegetables . U
Utilization of non-conventional, minimal processing of fruits and vegetables.
