Teaching :
• The division is mainly engaged in teaching of undergraduate B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) degree programme under Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. • It also offers basic courses for other UG and PG degree programmes of SKUAST- Jammu namely Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Horticulture and Forestry and School of Biotechnology. • The main objective of the division is to provide in-depth knowledge of subjects and to develop student’s intellectual capacity to improve cognitive and transferable skills which provide better knowledge and skill in the field of Agricultural food Processing. • The Post graduate programmers i.e. M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in Processing and Food Engineering will be started in due course of time after recruitment of required faculty.

Educating the youth, scholars and farmers to work on value addition of various food products, provide better knowledge and skill in the field of agricultural food processing for finding out the possible solution to boost the shelf life of food products, food storage and transportation.
The flagship areas :-
- To develop student’s intellectual capacity to improve cognitive and transferable skills which provide better knowledge and skill in the field of Agricultural food processing.
- To find out the possible solution for boost the shelf life of food products, food storage and transportation.
- To produce adequate trained man power to work on value addition of various food products.
- To development of suitable package of practice and appropriate protocol for processing and value addition of locally available crops.
