Advanced Statistical and Computing Application Training Programme Concludes at SKUAST-Jammu
The Indian Agricultural Statistical Research Institute (IASRI) New Delhi, a premier National Institute in the discipline of statistics and computer application organised one week’s scientists training programme in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) and National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Karnal on “Data analysis using SAS” at SKUAST-Jammu Main campus Chatha from March 17-22, 2014. IASRI is centre of excellence in providing robust consultancy and advisory service to agricultural academia and scientists. The institute organised the training programme to sensitize the scientists of SKUAST-Jammu in application of SAS for data analysis. SAS software is comprehensive software which deals with many problems related to statistical analysis, spreadsheet, data creation, graphics, etc. About 25 scientists from SKUAST-Jammu participated in the “hands on” training to acquire skills in advance computer software . The eminent scientists of statistical computing Dr Rajander Parsad (Consortium Principal Investigator), Dr D.K. Jain, Dr. Ravinder Malhotra, Dr A.K.Sharma, Dr, A.P.Ruhil and Dr. Manish Sharma imparted hands on training to the trainees in the computer lab of SKUAST-Jammu. The use of modern media (webinar) was used for delivering lectures by experts sitting in New Delhi to the trainees at SKUAST-Jammu. Webinar software enables trainees to join for online training from anywhere, saving cost of training.
